Ethel is the French bulldog this whole farm is named after, and she has never once let anyone forget it. Front-of-house manager, chief of security and professional sunbather, she divides her day between patrolling the garden, supervising the chickens with an air of weary tolerance, and holding important meetings on her favourite hay bale. She runs the place on charm, snorts and sheer force of personality — and every single animal here, human included, answers to her.
