Marlene is a blue brahma in a beautiful slate-grey coat that she wears like designer loungewear. She is the flock's chief correspondent: if anything happens anywhere on the farm, Marlene saw it, has views on it, and will cluck about it at length to anyone in earshot. Generous with her time, fond of a long gossip over the fence, and quite convinced that the garden would fall apart without her supervision. She may be right.
